Today the Bundeskartellamt has cleared the acquisition of a 18.75 per cent share in Süddeutscher Verlag GmbH (Munich) by Südwestdeutsche Medienholding GmbH (Stuttgart). A clearance has become possible as Süddeutscher Verlag will sell its 70 per cent stake in the regional newspaper Frankenpost to the minority partner Deutsche Druck- und Verlagsgesellschaft (Hamburg) prior to putting the concentration into effect. Against this background the concentration will not lead to a creation or strengthening of dominant positions in the reader and advertisement markets in the regions of Vogtland District/Plauen and Hof.
