Bundeskartellamt awarded work and family audit certificate ("audit berufundfamilie") for the second time

28.06.2018

The Bundeskartellamt has again been awarded the work and family audit certificate by the Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Dr Franziska Giffey, for its strategic family and life-phase oriented human resources policy.

Andreas Mundt, President of the Bundeskartellamt: "The Bundeskartellamt sees itself as an attractive employer of staff who are strongly motivated by the tasks they perform. We see the reconciliation of work and family life as a dynamic balance between work performance requirements, team work issues and the interests of employees with and without family obligations."

The authority's family-friendly policy was first acknowledged in 2015 following the work and family audit. A re-audit is carried out every three years. The aim of the re-auditing process is to ensure that the existing diverse possibilities of reconciling work and family are continually improved.

The family-friendly life-phase oriented measures already implemented before the audit process such as e.g. a range of part-time opportunities, the parent-child office and an extensive information programme about work and family issues, have since been further developed and optimised.

Measures recently completed which were developed and introduced following the first audit included the offer of flexible working hours, improvement of teleworking opportunities, expansion of workplace health promotion offers and the availability of an advisory and placement service for childcare as well as nursing care for family members.
