Every other year the Bundeskartellamt organises an international conference on competition issues (IKK – International Conference on Competition). At these traditional meetings attended by competition experts from more than 50 countries and high-ranking representatives from politics, industry and academia, current problems of competition policy and competition law are discussed. In March 2007 the conference was hosted for the 13th time.
Following the conferences in Naples (2002), Merida/Mexico (2003), Seoul (2004) and Bonn (June 2005), the 5th Annual Meeting of the ICN took place in May 2006 in Cape Town. The ICN meetings dealt with specific issues relating to the worldwide enforcement of competition law and policy.
