International Competition Network
The International Competition Network (ICN) was set up in 2001 competition authorities from 14 jurisdictions (including the Bundeskartellamt). It is now numbering more than 130 member authorities.
The ICN offers competition authorities worldwide an informal, project-based network to intensify their cooperation in issues relating to competition law enforcement.
Andreas Mundt, President of the German Bundeskartellamt, has been the ICN Steering Group Chair since September 2013 and was re-elected by the Steering Group for a third term at the 16th annual conference of the ICN, hosted by the Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) in Porto from 10 May to 12 May 2017.
The ICN’s working groups deal with issues covering all areas of competition law (merger control, cartel prosecution, abuse of a dominant position) as well as a number of overlapping issues. Cooperation within the working groups takes place electronically and in telephone conferences as well as in workshops. The results of the working groups are presented for discussion once a year at a plenary session at the ICN annual conference. The 2018 ICN annual conference will be held from 21 March to 23 March 2018 in New Delhi, India.
