In late 1999, as part of the move of the federal capital from Bonn to Berlin, the Bundeskartellamt moved from the Platz der Luftbrücke in Berlin to its current premises in Bonn.
Its offices are located directly adjacent to Villa Hammerschmidt, the second official residence of the Federal President, and close to Palais Schaumburg and the buildings which formerly housed the Federal Chancellor’s Office, the Bundestag and Bundesrat. The premises consist of the buildings of the former Office of the President, located in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Straße near the Rhine (buildings I to IV) and another building (Haus Axe) located on the Adenauerallee, opposite the Museum König.
